Meet That Stoner’s Mom: Healing, Advocacy, and a Bold Vision for Rural Wellness

Updated: Apr 14

If you’ve ever met Angela Elsner Brown—better known as That Stoner’s Mom—you already know she’s not your average entrepreneur. She’s a healer, an advocate, a mama on a mission, and a bold voice in the world of natural wellness. From personal pain to public testimony, Angela’s journey is a powerful reminder that sometimes healing starts where the system stops.

Her Story Starts with Family—and Pain

Angela’s road to cannabis advocacy began with something deeply personal: her own health and her son’s need for safe, effective alternatives. Living with multiple chronic health conditions—including Chiari Malformation, endometriosis, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, and Mast Cell Activation Syndrome—Angela spent years navigating a broken system, searching for answers that didn’t come in a prescription bottle.

While living in Colorado, she finally experienced what it meant to have access to a wide range of medical cannabis options. It changed her life.

Returning to Minnesota, she knew two things for sure:

  1. Cannabis was essential to her quality of life.

  2. Others deserved that same access—especially families, veterans, and rural patients.

Turning Advocacy Into Action

Angela didn’t just talk about the healing power of cannabis—she stood up for it. She testified in front of Minnesota lawmakers in support of HF 3766, a bill focused on expanding caregiver access and patient choice in medical cannabis. Her voice helped shape the conversation around compassion, freedom, and what healing could look like for those often left out of traditional systems.

In her own words:

“Patients deserve options. Veterans deserve options. Parents deserve options. We need a system that works for real people, not just pharmaceutical companies.”

A Business Rooted in Care

Today, Angela is the founder of That Stoner’s Mom LLC, a community-focused wellness brand built around cannabis education, chronic pain support, and holistic healing. Her dream? To open a dispensary and rural wellness hub that connects people with natural alternatives—especially Minnesota’s veterans and first responders.

Her services will include personalized healing plans, mindset coaching, and cannabis education rooted in lived experience and science-backed practice.
