Celebrating Rural - Prairie Grass Festival

Updated: Jul 28

From the outside looking in, people see those of us living in rural areas as "stuck. "Stuck in the past, stuck in the middle of nowhere, stuck in myriad separate ways that all depend on the eye of the beholder.

People fail to realize that staying is a choice. Staying is hard work. Staying is ingenuity. Staying is building community. Staying is choosing a life where things are a little slower, people are a little more up in your business, and if you want to go to Target—well, you’ll have to plan a trip to town for that next weekend.

The Prairie Grass Festival is a celebration of musicians and other rural artisans who’ve made the choice to live out on the prairie—the unknown or locally beloved hidden gems who live and make music in those tiny towns you drive by when you’re road-tripping to somewhere else.

This is a festival about lifting up those hidden gems and creating a relaxed, 21+ community gathering full of music, art, and good energy.

Founded by Angela Elsner Brown and John Jones, the festival blends creativity, music, cannabis, and good people. It’s a place to unwind, feel free, and remember why peace of mind matters.

So roll with us.

Breathe deep.

Let’s celebrate everything that blooms on the prairie.
